What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Restored Apostolic Ministries of Altoona based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

" But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6
Before you can come to God you've got to believe that He is God.  Next you must accept that Jesus is God and that he died for your sins.
"For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:9  "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Salvation

Acts 2:38 is the plan that God has given us to be saved.  You cannot earn salvation, but you can act on it.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

#1 We must Repent; to change your mind and thinking, turning toward God.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

#2. We must be baptized in Jesus Name for the remission, (erasing) of sins.
"And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.  Then prayed they him to tarry certain days." Acts 10:48
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

#3. We must receive the Holy Spirit.
"While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God...." Acts 10:44-46

Holiness

Once we receive salvation, we should allow God to transform us and lead us to live a holy life.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1-2

We strongly believe in outward praise and worship.
Psalms 150 - "Praise ye the Lord, Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.  Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.  Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and hard.  Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.  Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high-sounding cymbals.  Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord."
